Hebel's rudder blade

Hebel’s rudder blade designed by Mapalu Paweł Łuniewski is a novel construction characterized by specific shape that distinguishes it from other products available on the market. The rudder blade has a shape of a tappering box with a through nozzle

The Hebel fin provides heading stability even in rough seas.At small rudder deflection angles (0°-10°), the unit thrust force of the rudder is up to twice as high. This property improves course stability, as the vessel reacts to a given rudder position in a short time, and this enables rapid course correction. This feature results in a decrease in total hull drag, which reduces the fuel consumption of the vessel’s propulsion engine.

During the operation of the rudder blade developed by Mapalu Pawel Łuniewski, significant thrust forces are generated at low speeds. This allows its use in harbor basins, facilitating maneuvering especially for such vessels that do not have stern thrusters.
